Shortest gap between UFC fights

The typical layoff between bouts, taken as a median so one injury or one title-shot wait does not distort a career of turning up.

How this is measured

The median gap, not the mean. A mean is wrecked by a single long absence: one knee surgery, one year waiting on a title shot, and a fighter who otherwise competes every three months reads like a part-timer. The median answers the question people actually mean — how long does this fighter normally wait. Where the two diverge sharply the row shows both, so a real absence stays visible rather than being smoothed away. Requires 12 bouts, because a five-fight sample rewards a hot fourteen months over a decade of showing up.

Counted from official UFCStats results, UFC bouts only. The one-night tournament format ran until 1999 and let a fighter compete three times in an evening; the toggle above removes it rather than blending it in.

By division

The same measure inside each weight class, all-time. Useful because the cross-division list above skews to the divisions that simply run the most cards.
